Can’t get Shortlink from the new version app

  Recently I have found the Shortlink can’t be created, a few days ago it still worked normally!

  Before the shortlink can be created for both posted blog posts and scheduled posts.

  Now the Shortlink just be created through the web page mode.

  It seems due to I upgraded iOS and the WP app!

  Could you please tell me, what I need to do to reach the function.

  WP app version: 12.1
  iOS version: 12.2
  Affect: scheduled posts for web page mode, posted posts and scheduled posts for app mode

  Thanks for getting in touch. It would be great to collect any affected post links and also a screen shot. Just add the screen shot to the media library and we can take a look. I will look to see if there have been any other reports made. You’re working on yschangordon.wordpress.com, correct?

  Yes, “yschangordon.wordpress.com” is my site.

  I have captured few screenshots and write a simple description for the pictures to explain the situation. And dropped them into media library for your reference.

  Hi Gordon,

  I got a little bit confused with those screenshots. Can you please let me know where the “Copy shortlink” stopped appearing? When viewing your site through the browser or through the app?

  Thanks for your reply.

  Sorry to make you confused!

  You ask me “where the Copy shortlink stopped”?

  It is a little bit complicated, please see my experience below.

  Use the App (phone) to create the shortlink:

  1. View Site > web icon (pls see previous Pic.3) > Published post, the copy Shortlink function appears.
  2. View Site > web icon > the Scheduled post can’t be found
  3. View Site > if don’t click the web icon, direct click the Published post, the copy Shortlink function appears.
  4. View Site > the Scheduled post can’t be found
  5. Published post > View, the web icon no appears, so that the copy Shortlink function also no appears.
  6. Scheduled post > Preview, the web icon no appears, so that the copy Shortlink function also no appears.

  Conclusion:
  For the Published posts-
  I use a phone App if I click the Web icon through the external network, no problem to create the Shortlink, if I don’t click the Web icon, the Shortlink function can’t be found!
  For the Scheduled posts-
  I use a phone App no matter how the Shortlink function can’t be found!

  Use the Web and App (computer) to create the shortlink:

  1. Published post > Preview > Visit Site, the copy Shortlink function appears.
  2. Scheduled post > Preview > Visit Site, the copy Shortlink function appears.

  Conclusion:
  I use a computer no problem to create the Shortlink both Web and App, and also for all Desktop, Tablet and Phone simulation modes.

  So this is only happening on your iPhone when you use the official WordPress app, correct?

  I’ll run some tests on my end and I’ll get back to you.

  Yes, it just happens to iPhone app, and not be found in WordPress app previous versions!
