Can’t get ‘take the tour’ pop-up to go away

Every time I go back to my home page, it asks me if I want to take a tour of the new wordpress. I have hit the ‘x’ a million times and it just keeps coming back. I have even taken the ‘tour’ 4 or 5 times to see if that would change things, but it’s always popping up. How can I get rid of this thing?

This problem has been going on ever since I created my site many weeks ago. Since then I have cleared the Chrome cache, quit and re-opened Chrome, and updated Chrome multiple times. I have also logged out and back on. I just don’t get it. The “Welcome to WordPress” widget just won’t stop popping up.

It’s also happening to me on a Mac running Safari. I also get the popup tour for site editor. Again and again. So annoying!

Hi there,
When you take the tour (or dismiss it without taking it) a cookie is stored on your web browser to indicate that preference. Do you happen to be blocking 3rd party cookies in your Chrome settings? If so you may need to create an exception for WordPress.com cookies as blocking cookies would make the tour show up again as well as other possible issues.
