Can’t get text widgets to appear
-
I am having difficulty adding text widgets to my sidebar on http://www.dataphilesmusic.com.
Every time I try to add one, I enter everything (I’ve tried with both text and HTML) and click save. It minimises and appears in the sidebar column but when I navigate away it disappears. I haven’t had a similar problem with any other widgets.
When I searched the forums people talk about changing the number of text widgets but it looks like the website layout has changed since then. I am honestly sorry if I’m being a moron but I can’t make this work.
Thanks in advance

Hello dataphiles,Could you please display the HTML code here
in the forums between backticks (Next to #1 key on the
left side)so we can take a look at the code and see if
theirs a reason for it to be stripped from the text widget.because if the code is being stripped the text widget won’t
show up because theirs nothing to display. Also here is the FAQ’s on Text Widget

I’ve been having this problem as well, I tried multiple themes and could not get text to display, or even get the text widget to stay once I navigated away from the widgets page and back again. I’m working on building http://donnywholovedbowling.wordpress.com/

this issue has been occupying as some have expressed here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/the-updated-widgets-page?replies=9
my text widgets work fine, when you click on the blue save button it should save automatically, if not and you’re sure you’re doing it right then maybe contact support so they are aware of this.

Same thing is happening to me. I just launched the site (http://maltnbarley.wordpress.com) yesterday, so I assumed I was doing something wrong but others seem to have the same issue. I’m not even doing anything fancy – I just want it to say:
Next week’s game [title]
May 13 6:45pm kickoff
versus CanadiansDriving me crazy.

I’m having this problem with using the text widget to post buttons whose graphics are hosted at photo bucket. I thought maybe this was the problem as I haven’t had trouble with it otherwise.

With text widgets, this is almost invariably because there’s either something wrong with the code that has been input or the code is not a supported type, such as javascript. Without seeing the actual code, we can only guess.
If you want more specific help, please paste the entire code you’re using here between backticks, so it’s Backtick, paste all your code, backtick. That makes it display so we can see it.

Thank you for all of your responses, its greatly appreciated,
I’m pretty sure its not an error with the code though as this happens when I enter plain text as well as HTML,
I’m going to send something to support as it seems other people are having exactly the same problem
Cheers
