Can't get the Facebook Share button to work it will only do LIKE

  • Unknown's avatar

I am trying to get the Facebook SHARE to work on my blog. It only does LIKE. I have gone into the setting and share. I then tried a brand new blog page and the same theme. The new blog has the share button not the like button. I then deactivated the facebook link from my original blog but when I try to reactivate the share button it still shows up as like. Is there a way to permanently delete the facebook association with my blog (the top section of the Settings>share page.

    Hi there!

I went to your fourseastars.wordpress.com site today and I see both the Facebook and Like buttons on your site:

Were you able to figure this out on your own? Please let me know if you still need assistance.

    Thanks!

    Hi–
I figured out a patch, so to speak, BUT I still can’t figure out why the FB share morphs into a FB like. There has to be some code error or something when it goes from Available Services to Enables Services.

I’m not too happy with the patch I have so any help you have I’d appreciate.

I checked out your settings under Settings -> Sharing on your dashboard. You have selected the “official buttons” under “button style”. Official buttons will display the number of shares in real-time on your blog, as reported by the specific service – and in Facebook’s instance, the number of likes your post has received. Here’s more information on the different settings for Sharing:

To change it back to the regular sharing buttons, choose “icon + text” in the options under “button style” and that should take care of it!

Let me know if you have any questions.
