can't get to reader at all on phone

Okay so now I can’t get access to reader at all via my phone (Microsoft) . Suddenly being told my browser is not supported. What’s going on please?
Hoping I get a response to THIS query as my last one (September 22nd) has been completely ignored!

Can you tell me a little more detail about what type of phone you have and what browser you are using on the phone?

Hello,
It’s the Microsoft 640 and it runs Internet Explorer although not sure which version. The OS is Microsoft 8.1 update 2. Hope that helps and thanks for quick response.
Btw have checked and there are no updates due for my phone.

I was able to test with Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 8.1 from both a Lumia 630 and a Lumia 925 phone, and the Reader worked normally in both tests. I know it’s not exactly the same phone you mentioned, but it was a Windows phone running the same OS and browser versions you mentioned, and it’s the closest I could find.
Are you able to clear browser cache as a basic troubleshooting step?

Do you see any errors or is the screen blank or a solid color or does just part of the screen load? Also, are you able to browse other WordPress.com websites and reach the admin pages normally.

Hello, I delete browser history each day anyway but have cleared through the IE as you suggested but still can’t access beyond the stats page.
So I click the “view admin” from the ap front page which takes me into the classic dashboard. I used to get to reader from this page by touching the third icon in on the top left (next to the W icon) but this stopped working back in September, so to access reader from my phone I then had to select the W, stats and then I could get to the reader. Now I can’t even get to stats as a white page shows with the following text:
Unsupported browser
Unfortunately this page can not be used by your browserIt then gives me a link to classic dashboard from which I can’t access the reader anyway, or the option to update my browser but as I already have the latest browser this is pretty pointless.
The page also has what looks like a stylized serpent or sea monster hovering over what looks like a browser disappearing into water (yes I know that sounds weird).
That’s about as detailed as I can get in afraid 😊

Internet Explorer 11 should be working, and it does work in my tests, so I am not sure what else could be happening in your case! Are you by chance using any app or software on the phone that could be interfering, such as ad-blocking software? (this is sometimes an issue for browsers, but I’m not sure if the same problem can even happen on a Windows phone)
Another troubleshooting step you can try is to switch to a different network and check to see if the problem persists. It would also be good to clear browser cache again at that point, even though you already did it before. If it works from a different network or internet provider, then the problem could be with some sort of firewall rule or filtering software at the network level. I’m not sure about this, but I think it would be worth doing a troubleshooting step like that if possible to try to rule out a network-related issue.
That’s all I can think of to try right now. I also haven’t seen any other similar reports of a problem like this, without any other similar reports and because I was unable to reproduce the problem in my own testing, it makes me think it may be something to do with the local browser or network.

My other half is able to access on his windows phone, via the same network – very strange. Thank you for trying to help. I might try uninstalling and then reinstalling the WP ap and see if that sorts the problem out.

There isn’t a way to uninstall WP from a phone unless you are using one of the mobile apps. Do you mean you’re going to uninstall and reinstall the browser on your phone?

No it’s one of the apps. Have uninstalled it and now accessing direct from the browser 😊

I thought you were using the Internet Explorer browser from the beginning! :)
The mobile browser experience is pretty good actually, so that might work out better anyway.
