Can't import blogger blog

I’m trying to import a blogger test blog (with just one post) to my wordpress test blog:
My wordpress blog: testatest291183865.wordpress.com
The blogger blog: https://yeatanothertestblog.blogspot.com/My intentions are to upgrade if this works and migrate a much larger blog to wordpress. However, since not even the test seems to work, I’m no so sure anymore.
I follow the steps as explained here: https://wordpress.com/support/import/coming-from-blogger/ but once I upload the xml-file from blogger to wordpress nothing happens. There is no “Start Import button” appearing that I could click as described. It just says: “Success! File uploaded”. No new posts added, though.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hmmm, on our end I’m seeing a series of successful imports.
Could you upload the export file to your media library, so we can take a look? Then update us here.

The media library doesn’t allow xml files. You can download the export here: https://filebin.net/2b0jv9131vt9cafjYes, it says that the file was uploaded. Did I miss a step? The instructions state: “Once the importer has processed the uploaded file, click the Start Import button”. But there is not “Start Import” button.

Oh, I see what you mean. Does it make any difference if you try importing from https://testatest291183865.wordpress.com/wp-admin/import.php?

Hopping in to say, my apologies; I was thinking it was a .txt file.
I want to say you could rename it to .txt and upload that way if needed, or use dropbox or something similar.

staff-mckluskey: Yes, that worked as such as that finally a button appeared that I could click. Next I was informed I would receive an email as soon as the import was finished. That was over a week ago and no email. Would the posts appear on the blog directly, already published? I don’t see any new posts or anything new, really.
I’m starting to doubt that WordPress.com is the right choice for me. The blogger blog that I ultimately seek to import has over 2000 posts and 12000 comments, and the import is not even working for a test blog with one single post.

Strange. I had no trouble importing that into a test site. I’m using this:
https://wordpress.com/import/testatest291183865.wordpress.comand then selecting Blogger, and dropping the file there. Then I’m choosing Start Import. It took a few seconds but the test post is there now.
Is there any chance your browser is blocking our scripts through an extension or security setting?
