Can’t import from Blogger…Google Error

I’m trying to import my client’s Blogger blog to a WP.org blog, so I’m trying the work around where you import into a wp.com blog first and then do a WP to WP import. The problem is that it’s not letting do the import into the wp.com blog. When I click on Authorize I get this error every time:
The page you have requested cannot be displayed. Another site was requesting access to your Google Account, but sent a malformed request. Please contact the site that you were trying to use when you received this message to inform them of the error. A detailed error message follows:
The “next” parameter was bad or missing.
I’ve tried to do the import in Firefox and Internet Explorer. I’ve tried already being logged into the google account before I try authorizing, I’ve tried completely logging out. Nothing works.
I even got my client to try importing on her computer and she gets the exact same error.
So is there is fix for this? I don’t even know if this is a WordPress problem or a Google problem?

Best bet would be to submit a feedback on this from the top right of your dashboard. That way a staff member can take a look at the issue.
Gotta admit that it wouldn’t be the first time that Blogger changed something on their end with the API.

I’m not sure if this will solve your problem, but is the blog your are trying to import a “new” Blogger or the “old” Blogger format? In my experience, even if you switched your login to accomodate the new format, the blog itself has to use one of the new templates. Also I’m not sure but if you are not using one of the default templates that could cause a problem too. Changing to a default template can help. You can always save the one you are using and then change back.

Okay, thanks. I already submitted a support request, but I thought I’d try the forum, too and see if I could get an answer faster.

Phoenixpcd: She has new blogger. That doesn’t even seem to be the issue though, because I can’t even get that far into the import for it even communicate with Blogger. :(

It seems like blogger isn’t 100% on their API. if it is an issue, it would be like the third time they’ve changed something on it this year.
