Can't import myOpera .xml file to WordPress.com

    Hi there,
    I am moving my Opera blog to WordPress.com. I have already set up a blog account at WordPress called: voice2mind.wordpress.com.

    My question is:
    Once I get the exported .xml file in my email and/or Files list at Opera, WHAT DO I DO WITH IT????

    BECAUSE…
    I keep getting a: “This is not an xml file!” error message after uploading it to WordPress via MyBlogs –> Tools –> Import –> MyOpera –> choose file, etc, etc.

    There are other people who have posted the same problem online, but NOBODY BOTHERS TO MENTION HOW TO FIX IT!
    Today is Feb. 15th and I’m running out of time…. I thought this would work right away.

    BTW: I don’t own a computer.
    I use one at the public library which closes at 5pm EST on weekends and 9pm EST Mon-Fri. They are closed on Mon, Feb 16th, as well.

    I will patiently keep checking for email updates there (and at the Apple store). Thanks again.

    BTW it’s possible that if you use another browser you may be successful.

    Hi! Just got your last message.

    This library does not have any other web browser besides Internet Explorer on its desktop and software downloads are blocked.

    I’ll look online for other options, but may have to wait until I can get to the Apple store tomorrow (Monday) to try Firefox, etc.

    How did you help the other people who had the same problem?

    I will be online until 5pm EST today. Thanks!

    Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in order of datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected. It’s in your best interest not to post again until they respond because doing so will move the timestamp/datestamp forward and it will take longer to get help.

    That said do know that Internet Explorer is meaningless to us without the version number. See here for the version number > http://www.whatismybrowser.com/

    It sounds like you may be running into trouble with Internet Explorer. If you can’t get the importer to work for you, I can try to do it on my end. I’ll need the actual .xml file, not a link to it, since I cannot download it without access to your MyOpera account, which you should not provide. :)

    If you can upload the file to Dropbox or a similar file sharing service, I can access it from there. You can contact me via email with a link so you don’t have to make it public, but if you do so, please put my name in the subject line and a link to this forums thread in the email itself, so I can connect the email and forums post together.
