Can't import one site to another

  I have created a WordPress web page and I want to import it to my WordPress account through GoDaddy but when I try to do it I get the following message:

  This does not appear to be a WXR file, missing/invalid WXR version number
  Try another file or contact support.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  Under the dashboard your self-hosted WordPress.org site, did you download the XML (WXR) file? Here are instructions on how to do so:

  https://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-from-self-hosted-wordpress-to-wordpress-com/2/

  That is what you’ll need in order to import your content to your new WordPress.com account.
