Can’t import/write to uploads directory

  I’ve successfully installed wordpress on my server and am trying to move my wordpress.com blog there but get the following error:

  Unable to create directory /usr/www/users/***/***/wp-content/uploads/2007/04. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

  The file is plenty small, so that’s not the prob. Suggestions?

  btw: /uploads/2007/04 does not exist. I assume the import process is supposed to create it?

  Set wp-content to the permission of 777. The import process should create the subdirectories.
