can’t insert gallery

This happened a few times before lately: I upload photos to make a gallery to put on my blog. The photos are uploaded, but then no ‘insert gallery’ button appears. I close and try again. The photos are all available (i don’t have to upload them again), but there is no ‘gallery’ tab at the top of the frame. I just can’t add a gallery to my editor.
After trying a few times, suddenly the gallery tab appears. I change the orders of the photo’s and then again, no possibilty to insert the gallery.
Maybe it has something to do with the large amount of photo’s (70) at once?
It’s very frustrating. Any ideas?

What happens when you hit the “Save All Changes” button after uploading? Does the Gallery tab appear in the image uploader?

i’m no expert but i’ve download 100s of photos to my blog and never used the gallery , they are downloaded to my pc pictures first and then downloaded to the blog page or draft page direct which then puts them in the gallery . maybe i’m doing it wrong but it works for me . got 50 more to-night on a draft page

@justjennifer: when i hit ‘save all changes’, nothing happens…
@harry: i do that when i need to add 1 or 2 photo’s, but if you want to put a lot of photos at once, you don’t do them one by one, don’t you? I want to add 70 photos at once. I understand what you say, the gallery forms itself when you upload more than 1 photo. But that’s just not happening with me.

Could you try uploading photos from within your page or post?
Looks like you uploaded photos from the media library. When the images are not “attached” to any page or post, gallery is not created.Please follow the steps below.

I followed the steps, like I have always followed them before. Managing a gallery usually is no problem for me.
The only thing I changed is saving the post first and then add the gallery. And it worked.

I’m having the same problem – no insert gallery button. Could this be a security issue – could my security software be blocking it?
I know I’ve used the gallery function in the past – granted it’s been a while – but this is driving me nuts – I’d really like to give that new slideshow function a whirl!

Ensure that you type in a title before attempting to upload your gallery. If there is no title your photos wont be associated with a post and thus gallery tab will not appear.

You mean title of the post? Yes, it’s a saved draft with a title.
Or do you mean each picture has to have a title as well? Some of them do, some of them dont…

I found that if the title of the draft was blank, after uploading and pressing the Save button the Gallery tab would not display. I’d just have an almost blank dialog, apart from the menu options. I then tried another test and ensured the title (draft) had some text and this time following the Save the Gallery tab appeared.
Not all my photos have titles either so I don’t believe the issue lies there.
