can’t insert multiple images into post

I have an image-heavy blog, and I’m finding that more than half of the time I spend blogging is going through the multiple clicks required to add a photo from my media gallery or media library into my post. When I upload from my computer, I’m able to select multiple images in one go, and then they all upload at once. Is there a way to do the same with inserting the images that I’ve already uploaded? The gallery function doesn’t work for me, as I use my pictures as illustrations for my text and a gallery just doesn’t fit with this usage. I’d be willing to pay for a feature like this, as I have wasted hours, possibly days, going through the same 5 or six clicks and waiting for the flash to load. If this isn’t possible to do right now, will it be in the works at some point in the future?

I have the exact same challenge.
I also spend 2/3 of the time just clicking “add….”.
It would be nice for a feature that just loaded all the pictures into the page, and then i could write and re-arrange them from there.I would be very interested in hearing if you get any tips!

After much searching around the internet, my conclusion is that they have not fixed this on WordPress. The best work around I have found is by using Windows Live Writer. This came free on my computer and appears to be a free download online. It allows me to import images separately, in line, and be able to adjust their formatting in mass (so I don’t have to go back and edit each to the right size, rotation, etc.) and then I just post the draft directly to my blog. You can edit the full post in Writer and publish it from there if you want. Seems to be working well, though the software isn’t 100% stable and I have gotten a few errors.
