Can't like posts on blogs with custom domains.
-
Hi there.
For about a week now, every time I click on the like button on a blog I follow, a pop up opens in a new window and then closes. The like isn’t registered and I also see the Follow button on the bottom left corner—even though I’m still logged into WordPress.
This happens only on blogs that have a custom domain and I’m using the latest version of Safari.
Anyone else notice this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, I’ve tagged WordPress.com staff to help you with this issue. You’ll likely receive a response within a few hours from a staff member: https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question
Hope this gets resolved soon. :)

snarmadhaa – can you let me know if you see this happen in other browser as well.
It won’t hurt to clear your browser cache too:

Thanks, Liz.
Clearing cache worked. Sorry for raising an unnecessary alarm—I should’ve known this myself.

Hi again, Liz.
Just letting you know—Even though clearing my cache worked, the same problem came up again a couple of days later. Cleared cache again to get it work. And it’s only on Safari. Seems to work fine on Firefox and Chrome.

Hi there,
Open Safari preferences, go to Privacy and uncheck the option that says “Prevent cross-site tracking”.
With the update to Safari 12 Apple changed how that setting works, and it now also blocks the login tracking cookie we use to make following, comments and Likes work on sites not on the WordPress.com domain. Our developers are looking into whether there’s any way we can still make this work even if you have that setting on, especially as similar blocking will soon become standard in other browsers like Chrome and Firefox as well. But for now disabling that setting is the only option.
