Can't load photos
-
I have been away from my blog for some time but recently renewed my subscription (and have never let it lapse) so assume all is well. When I tried to upload a photo, I was told I did not have enough room in my library. I tried to advised ‘new way to create a post’ but, when trying to add a photo, was told that an error occurred. Advice?

Hi there,
Your blog, jockmackenzie.wordpress.com, shows one upgrade, namely a VideoPress upgrade that was renewed in November.
I can also see that the site used to have a 10GB space upgrade, but that expired in April of last year. Your account’s records show that you renewed that upgrade manually each year, and that it did not have auto-renew active.
We no longer offer the 10GB space upgrade as a stand-alone upgrade, but I want to ask you to consider upgrading to the Premium Plan instead. The VideoPress upgrade you currently have costs $60 a year, and the space upgrade had cost $20 a year, giving you a total annual cost of $80 a year.
The Premium Plan costs $99 a year, and includes both those upgrades, as well as the No Ads upgrade, Custom Design and a custom domain should you wish to register one. If you upgrade now you will, of course, receive credit for the VideoPress upgrade you recently renewed.
Please let me know whether or not this would work for you.

Thanks for your advice. It sounds like an upgrade to Premium Plan may work. Would it also work to delete unnecessary items from my Medial Library? Please contact me.

You can delete content from your media library to free up space, but this will also remove those images from the posts where they had been inserted, so unless you plan to delete those posts entirely I wouldn’t advise that.
What you can, potentially, do is to replace all your existing images with optimised versions. By image optimization I mean you resize your images to the size they will actually be displayed before you upload them. One way to free up space would be to remove existing image, and replacing them with optimised versions that take up less space.
http://photographworks.me/2015/10/12/how-to-deal-with-the-problem-of-emails-with-large-files/However, this only applies to images. If you want to upload videos you will not be able to do so without a space upgrade, even if you delete existing media. This is because the space upgrade allows you to upload additional file types, including video files, that cannot be uploaded if you only have the 3GB free storage.
If you want to upgrade to Premium it would be best if I first remove the VideoPress upgrade from your account. Then I can refund its value in credits which will serve as a discount on your purchase of the Premium Plan. Let me know if I must go ahead with that.

Okay, I have removed the VideoPress upgrade and added it’s value in credits to your account. When you go to the checkout page that amount will be automatically deducted from the cost for the Premium Plan.
Let me know if I can help with anything else.
