Can't load pictures

When I try to load pictures, WordPress just keeps thinking and thinking and never loading. I’m only using 1% of available memory. I have no issues with connectivity. I can load the exact same pictures onto the other WordPress blog I write for with no problems. Help!

That is a very strange thing to have happen.
Does it happen in all browsers? Are there any browser extensions that are active?
I’m going to take a shot in the dark and say there is no message that shows and just shows a spinner, correct?

OK, I got it to work using IE instead of Chrome, but it’s always worked in Chrome before. Yes, it’s just the spinner going on endlessly, no error message.

@canarywriter, I am reviewing past help requests tagged “media” and wanted to follow up with you. May I ask if you are still having trouble with you still having trouble uploading pictures to your WordPress.com blog using Chrome?

It usually works now. Every once in a while, I still have trouble, but then I just open up IE and do it there. I don’t know what makes one day different from another. Thanks!

Okay. Thank you for the feedback! I tested uploading media using Chrome 54 on Windows 10, and it worked in my tests so I am looking for any extra information I can find that will help me reliably reproduce the bug. If you think of anything that seems like it triggers the problem, please let me know! I will also keep testing and keep an eye out for other reports with more detail about what might be going wrong in these cases.
Next time it happens, could you try a force refresh on the page and let me know if it starts working after that? And, if possible, maybe try clearing browser cache and cookies and try again. If either of those things resolve the issue for you, that would be helpful to know.

I’ve encountered the same problem twice again. The first time, I cleared cookies and browsing data on Chrome, and then it worked. Just now, I cleared cookies only and then got an error – can’t load message on the pictures. I had to switch to IE to get pictures to load. I don’t know if the fault is in Chrome or WordPress. Thanks!

What about browser extensions? Sometimes some of them can interfere with websites in odd ways. If you have any Chrome browser extensions and if you’re willing to do a bit more troubleshooting in Chrome, try turning off all the extensions in Chrome temporarily and then check to see if the same problem still happens the next time you add photos.
