Can’t locate domain to renew

Hi there,
You can renew your domain from the Manage Purchases page. Click on your domain on this page and then “Renew Now” on the page that follows on clicking it.
Hope this helps!

Thank you for sharing the link. Very kind. However, it states that I don’t currently have any domains registered to my WordPress account? I can only assume my domain must be registered to another WordPress user name that I’m unaware of? The strange thing is that WordPress emailed a reminder to the email address that relates to the account I’m using that states that I don’t currently have any domains registered. Bizarre….

Hi there,
What domain are you trying to renew? The account your’e using to post here does not own any sites or upgrades on WordPress.com.
You used to own a site with the domain, derekforwhitstable.co.uk, but you cancelled the domain and deleted that site on 6 June, so you no longer own that domain.
If you still want to use that domain I can still restore it to your account at this point.
As you’ve deleted the site, and as you’ve also been refunded for the last renewal on that domain, please create a new site at https://wordpress.com/start/site/ and let me know once you’ve done that. Then I can send you a link to pay for the domain again before restoring it to the new site.

Hello,
Thank you. The domain I’m trying to renew is as follows:
http://www.dph-consultancy.com
I suspect this is probably linked to another user account, but the WordPress reminder email was sent to my email that is linked to this user account.
Am I able to renew through this username?
Thanks for the assistance, it is greatly appreciated.

That domain belongs to another account, yes. The email you received is the one sent directly from our registrar to the admin contact email in the domain’s Whois, which appears to be the same email as you used for this WordPress.com account.
But we also sent renewal reminders to the email address on file for the other WordPress.com account.
You’ll have to be logged into the other account in order to renew the domain. If you know what the other email is, and still have access to it, please log in using that email address instead.
If you don’t remember the login details for the other account, we can help you regain access via our account recovery process. Once you’re back into the account you’ll be able to renew the domain.

Thank you for the very useful information. Unfortunately, I appear to be caught in a catch 22 situation.
The domain http://www.dph-consultancy.com is held on another email user account (I suspect the whitstable one) which is no longer live and I don’t have access to the email history anymore relating to past domain codes or any other proof of ownership.
The only link and connection I can prove is that the reminders for payment have been coming to my hotmail email address which was linked to the WordPress account.
I would like to transfer the DPH domain to the WordPress account which uses my hotmail account if possible, to then allow me to renew and make payment.
Hope this makes sense.

I would like to transfer the DPH domain to the WordPress account which uses my hotmail account if possible, to then allow me to renew and make payment.
Only the account that currently owns the domain can transfer it to another account. I literally don’t have the option to do it on that account’s behalf, so even with all the verification in the world I cannot move the domain to this account for you.
As the other account has paid upgrades, you should have access to transaction IDs that can help verify your ownership of the account. Those appear on your bank statement for every past payment made to us:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transaction-id/
Please check your past statements for that transaction ID, then you can use that on our account recovery form to verify ownership of the other account.
-
Thank you. I will of course look out this information from a number of previous statements.
However, as the domain reminder links have been sent to my Hotmail account I would have thought this would have been proof alone that I do in fact own this domain address. It does seem a rather convoluted way of confirming that I am the owner of the site when I only want to pay towards renewing my domain, instead of withdrawing money or transferring a domain which happens to be currently be down and causing me problems with existing a future potential clients.
Thank you for your help though.
-
Hello, I’ve found all my transaction details and can now prove ownership of the domain. However, my domain is held on an account that has an email address that is no longer live and I cannot receive the email verification link.
Can you please send me the link to allow me to renew and pay for my domain address please.
Thank you.
-
I’m now being told that http://www.dph-consultancy.com is not a WordPress domain?
If I am not being permitted to renew my own domain can you please let me know so that I can forget about this domain and make alternative arrangements.
Spent far too long trying to sort out something that should be very simple to achieve.
Complete disappointment thus far!
-
We can only send the payment links to the email address on the account.
In this case, I recommend following through with our Account Recovery Team, who will get you back into the account since it sounds like you have the emails with the transaction IDs already: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form

Thank you. Unfortunately, this doesn’t work either as I’m receiving a message stating this is a remotely held WordPress site. It is true that the domain is held on a separate server, but I purchased the domain through WordPress and I can’t seem to now renew it.
If there is no further assistance you can offer, is it possible to release the domain into the public domain as it has now expired and I can try to purchase it again through a separate medium, as I’m getting nowhere fast here.
The only alternative to this is for me to purchase a brand new domain, which although possible wouldn’t be my first choice.
-
Please email passwordhelp[at]wordpress.com and include the transaction ID you have there.
If there is no further assistance you can offer, is it possible to release the domain into the public domain as it has now expired and I can try to purchase it again
Expired domains are never released immediately, but go through a process of around 80 days before the registry releases it again. We do not have any control over that process, and there’s no way to manually release a domain before it has gone through the redemption process:
If you want to renew that domain, regaining access to the account that owns it is the only option.

many thanks for the help. I will email them now in order to try and get this rectified.
Kind regards

Good morning, I sent an email to the address you kindly provided for me yesterday. However, I’ve yet to receive any sort of response? Do you happen to know how long that department usually take to respond to email enquiries?
I would of course like to get this problem rectified one way or another ASAP as it is effecting by business.
Thank you for any clarification you can provide.
Kind regards

The team replies to emails in the order they are received, and should get to it soon.
Please don’t send additional follow-ups on that ticket – each new email you send will move your request back to the bottom of the queue and make it take longer for you to get a reply.
