Can't log in. 2-step verification tokens wiped after updating iPhone app.
-
Hi there. Yesterday I added 2-step verifiaction to my login. Later that day I updated my Google Authenticator iPhone app, and all my tokens were wiped! Now I can’t access my WordPress blogs (meeg.org and euanritchie.org). I have had to sign up with a new login and username just to contact support, because I couldn’t access it any other way. Is WordPress able to to send a one-time verification code to my phone? Or is there some other way to identify me and let me back in!? Hope so! Regards, Nick Stone.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Jackiedana. Thanks for the reply and the sticky.
You suggest re-adding the WordPress.com token by navigating to https://en.wordpress.com/settings/security/, etc. However, this assumes the user is logged in, and of course the problem is that the user cannot log in.
I’m hoping that the lost password > need more help approach works instead.
It would be good if WP could send a one-time verification code to user’s registered phone.
Thanks, Nick

The purpose of the account recovery process is to first authenticate you as the owner of the account and then assist you with regaining access.

A member of the WordPress team contacted me by email with a one-time code. I’m back in. Thanks WordPress!
