Can’t log in

First I realized that I wouldn’t log in on my cellphone. I knew this because I couldn’t answer anyone on my blog.
Second, When I try to log in via WordPress it says I have the wrong User Name, which I have been trying to find.
Ok, what’s up, and how do I fix this? -

Can you tell me a bit more about the trouble you are having? You are unable to access https://books6259.wordpress.com/ yes? Or is it some other site you are not able to access?
It seems you are able to log in to your WordPress.com account (in order to post in our forums) so you should be able to access the admin areas of your site by going here. https://wordpress.com/home/books6259.wordpress.com

Hi,I will try to be clear. On my laptop I have a tab for my word press blog that tab will open my blog. When I go into word press log in without using my my tab I can’t log in because it says word press does not recognize my user name.
The reason why I tried to login on my lap top without the tab is because off an issue on my phone. on my cell phone, from email, I can’t like or comment people that I follow. It’s asking me to give my name email and website. Before, I would open someone I follow, read their post, which I still can do, but now WP won’t allow me to comment.
I guess this is still rather convoluted.

Also, what’s weird is on my cell I can like or comment on some of the blogs I follow but not others. I did check to see if I accidentally unfollowed them but the answer is no. Plus When I open the same sites that wont allow me to comment on my cell if I open them on my laptop WordPress blog tab I can still like or comment on them.

A URL is how folks find your site online.
For example, WordPress.com’s URL is https://wordpress.com and the URL for this thread is https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/cant-log-in-246/
Is it possible you may have more than one account here? That would make sense with what you’re describing.

Yes, that is the URL for the site titled “Leave Me Alone I Am Reading and Reviewing”. :)
That site does belong to the account you’re currently logged in to.
You can see your account’s email address at https://wordpress.com/me/account
When you log in on your phone, make sure you use that email address.

I’m so frustrated. That’s my blog and that is my email address which i use to log in on my phone. Let me explain more. I check my emails on my phone. I get email notifications when those I follow posted something. I can still open them all on my cell but some blogs let me respond on my phone and others don’t. This has never happened before.
I appreciate everyones help but maybe I need someone from TA. Because the issue is still going on. I know us older people are slow with this stuff, but I try to respond to all every day on my phone and now I can’t.

2) And what browser are you using on the phone? Safari? Chrome? Something else?
3) On your phone, when you go to https://wordpress.com/me/account, do you see the account info for your
neesrecordaolcomaccount, or does it tell you you need to log in?4) If it shows you your account, what is the link to one of the posts where it won’t let you comment? When you look at that post on your phone, do you see your profile picture in the top-right corner, or doesn’t it show anything at the top of the site?

1) IPhone 11, so I guess it’s an IOS
2) I generally use Safari, sometimes Chrome.
3) It says my email, but before I was getting that I needed to log in. Not anymore.
4) It shows my picture. (thanks for explaining this to me, we older people sometimes need it spelled out.)
5) I will try to explain:
On my laptop, I open my WP notifications via email where I can see/read, like, or comment on all the sites I follow.
On my cell phone, I open the same way. I can open and read but only about half allow me to like or comment. I double-checked to ensure I didn’t accidentally unfollow them. I didn’t, I still follow all that are giving me trouble.

Based on the information you’ve provided, I’m wondering if there’s confusion over viewing articles on the WordPress.com app and a browser.
Can you tell me if you are using the WordPress.com app please (or used to use this app on a phone in the past).
The reason why I ask is because, in a browser, on a phone you might not be logged into WordPress.com, which can affect commenting and liking articles – whereas on the app, this behaviour would be different.

I do not have a WordPress app on my cell phone. I just go to my aol account and it takes me to whoever has a new WP post.
This started happening just a few days ago right after I added a image widget on my blog. Can this be a connection or just a coincidence?
So frustrating. I never had this problem before.

What error, specifically, exact quote please, does it give you?

1) I am logged into WordPress on my cell
2) On my phone I can’t like or comment on Jill’s blog
3) If I hit like, it doesn’t give me any error comment, I can just see that my like is not there
4) If I try to comment, I can not. I’m asked for my name, email, and website. This is why I originally thought I might have accidentally stopped following them.
5) Can you answer my question about the widget that might be causing the problem? I’ve been chatting with so many in this forum for two days so I am not sure who sees what.
6) Again, all is fine on my laptop and only some blogs are giving me this problem on my cell.

Nothing you added to your site will be causing a problem on other sites.
So, it sounds like your phone is not considering you logged in when you visit mapped domains (those not including
wordpress.comin the domain).Can you test one more thing, are you able to Like posts from https://wordpress.com/blog/ ?

Yes. Pls know, this has never happened before. How to fix this? As I said I do most on WordPress on my cell.

Ok, we’re aware of this limitation with Safari on iOS devices. Their cross-site tracking protection thinks that the login cookie for WordPress.com is tracking you on jillsbookcafe.blog (for example), so it blocks it and you’re left in a logged-out state.
We are working on options for this. The only “fix” for this now would be to switch off “Prevent Cross-Site Tracking” at Settings > Safari on your iPhone.

This was a change recently made to Safari, so it would have come in your last iOS update.
