Can't log in and can't pay

    I paid £84 last year and was notified that WordPress would take the same amount from my account this year on Feb 15th. But it didn’t. When I try to pay online again, it won’t let me. Meanwhile, I can’t log in. I send WordPress an email but it seems impossible to contact them.

    We made multiple attempts to renew your WordPress.com Premium subscription, but the charge kept being declined by your credit card provider. We had sent emails notifying you of these payment failures every time we attempted the renewal.

    After a month of attempts and failures, your plan expired in March. You can repurchase Premium for your site from your site’s plans page:

    https://wordpress.com/plans/renialambor.wordpress.com

    Meanwhile, I can’t log in.

    You have logged into your WordPress.com account already – if you weren’t you wouldn’t be able to make a post here on the WordPress.com forums.

    Thanks for your reply. I didn’t get any emails at all about your several tries. We even tried to pay online with a different card, but that didn’t work either. Everything I’ve tried, it declares it doesn’t recognise the email address, so something a bit odd has been happening! Can you try for the payment again? In the meantime, I can’t make sense of how WordPress works. Nothing I try works. I thought it was because the account had been cancelled. Thank you.

    Can you give us a link where you’re seeing that message? Also, please take a screenshot of the page in question. If you’re not familiar with how to take a screenshot, this support document will help explain how to make one:

    Then, use a service like Snipboard.io to upload the screenshot and then share the image link from that service here and we’ll take a closer look.

    I have now successfully paid on the original debit card. It seems I originally signed up as (email visible only to moderators and staff) which is why the email address was not recognised.
    This now an old email address. How can I change it to (email visible only to moderators and staff) which is my current email address?

  • Hi,

    I’m not seeing any users in the system with that email address. And the WordPress.com user account you are posting from is using your current address. So from this end, everything looks good.

    Thanks for your reply. All other email addys seem to have vanished. Can I please confirm that (email visible only to moderators and staff) is the only addy associated with this account? At the same time, I’m trying to edit the page I created earlier this year (which I couldn’t even access yesterday!) but I just don’t seem to have the tools to do it.

    I’ve worked out that WordPress works in blocks and that there are tutorials! I’d better find a tutorial. Thanks for your help.
