Can't log in locally

Hi
I’m a newbie developing a theme locally. When I go to http://localhost:8888/wordpress/wp-admin to log in, I get a blank screen. I also noticed last time I was posting that I got a blank screen after each post was published too. Can someone please help. I need to get some work done! Thanks!

OK, I removed the theme I was developing and tried to log in again. I managed to log in, load twenty ten and then put my theme back in the folder and activate it. But I still get the black page when I publish a post which says to me that I’ll get the same issues next time I try to log in too. Any ideas?

For anyone having these same issues out there, I managed to fix the blank page after posting issue which I hope also fixes my log in problem. All it was was a return after the end of the last piece of code in the functions.php file. Who would’ve thought?

The site you are asking about does not seem to be hosted on WordPress.COM so you need to make friends over at WordPress.ORG the keepers of the software you are using.

The other thing you should be aware of, in case you are not, is that the theme you are developing cannot be used here at wordpress.COM. We cannot add/upload themes at wordpress.COM. We are limited to the 180+ (and growing) themes found in the dashboard under appearance > themes.
The theme you are developing can only be used with a self-hosted wordpress installation on a third-party hosting service such as bluehost, dreamhost, etc.
