Can't log in with my email address
-
Problem #1
I’m finding it odd that I am no longer allowed to log in with my email address (on several of my blogs)… because your login window still asks for “email address or user name.”
Problem #2
There’s no “forgot username” option (only a “forgot password” option). (And I was dumb, I didn’t keep track of my username on a couple of my blogs — since the email address always worked for all.) :-
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are two questions you need to answer yourself:
1. What are the exact URLs of those sites?
2. Exactly which wordpress.COM username account registered those sites?
Every WordPress.COM blog has a sole owner. It is the person with the WordPress.COM username account who registered the blog under that username account and a single associated email address, and who is the original Admin of the blogs registered under that username account.
You have to be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
Clicking this link should display all blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf the log-in information is lost visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
If you are not successful gaining access to the blog then please complete the form for account recovery at this link https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery and submit it to the Account Recovery Staff and provide proof ownership, so they can contact you by email ie. not on these public support forums which are available to everyone with internet access.

If in fact you are referring to self-hosted wordpress.ORG sites then we don not provide support for them. Our support docs do not apply to them. Our wordpress.COM username and login information does not apply to them either.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
As you are referring to a wordpress.ORG software install on paid hosting, if you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right-hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

No this is a .com site / hosted through wordpress (and unrelated to the only site I could show in this post, since I can’t log in to my other site to show that domain). I’ve submitted the account recovery form (along with my original transaction ID). Hopefully it will all get resolved soon, thank you!

As an aside, if it is WordPress.com’s new policy to require users to log in with a username only, they may want to update their login window text to remove the “Email or” option. :-)

The options are username or email address.

1. gmoawareness.wordpress.com
2. I have no idea what my username is for it, since I’ve been logging in with an email address all this time. No, unfortunately, when I tried to log in with an email address, I kept getting this error message “Please log in using your WordPress.com username instead of your email address.” This is a new development as far as I can tell.
