Can't log into account, e-mail is missing 1 character as registered

I can’t sign into my account, and just realized that my e-mail (as it appears to the left on this screen) is wrong. It SHOULD be (email visible only to moderators and staff) – but the period is missing. Hence, every time I try to log in with my e-mail, it says no such account exists on WordPress.com. My screen name appears when I leave comments on blogs and I have a lengthy register of blog subscriptions, but I’m stumped on how to contact a human at WP who can help me fix this simple snafu. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated.

There is a single email address that can be used on only one wordpress.COM username account and not on any others, regardless of how many blogs are registered under that username account.
The wordpress.COM blog’s owner can change the relevant email address on their accounts page at https://wordpress.com/me/account at any time. A confirmation email will be sent to that address.

Thanks for your kind and quick reply. I wish I was more tech savvy; I got a little lost trying to understand your suggestions (but I’ll get back to that.) I realized after I submitted my question that there was another link to check my registration info, and the e-mail address there is actually correct (and has never changed.) The sidebar I was referring to apparently is my “username” – a contraction of my e-mail. My screen name is different. What has me baffled is whenever I try to actually log in, it says there is no one registered with my screen name OR e-mail. How can this be, if I’m still able to leave comments and my blog subscriptions continue to send notifications? I apologize if I’m dense – I honestly don’t understand what’s going on. That said, I will try the link you suggested for contacting a WP Moderator/Staff Member for help. Again, many thanks for trying to help this technology dinosaur navigate the landscape :)

CORRECTION NOTE: My first message now contains a line I did not write and is incorrect. My query has nothing to do with thesilverquillblog.wordpress.com. It’s about trying to log into my account via my e-mail address – that’s all.

The wordpress.COM member can change the relevant email address on their account page at https://wordpress.com/me/account at any time. A confirmation email will be sent to that address.

Again, my e-mail address on my Account Settings page is correct – it doesn’t need to be changed. WP can’t/won’t recognize it, though, when I try to log in.

Hi, Supernovia – thanks for weighing in. The account I was trying to subscribe to is a blog titled “Robin of Berkeley” (http://www.robinofberkeley.com/) The link to subscribe (3rd down on the right) did say “User registration is currently not allowed,” but I tried logging in anyway just to see what was happening on WP (I hadn’t checked in for a while.) That was when I kept getting back responses saying my e-mail ( (email visible only to moderators and staff) ) was not recognized as a registered account user. When I tried using my “screen name” (Cymbaline), it didn’t recognize that, either. As stated, I don’t understand how I’ve been posting comments and following blogs with my info not being recognized – screwing up a password is always possible, but not my e-mail or screen name! Does my account exist in a parallel universe or am I just a dope? I considered just deleting the entire account and starting over, but I don’t want to lose my subscriptions or comment history (or are those on Disqus??? AAAGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! x&)

Thanks @oleary104comcastnet. The site you mentioned is not using our services. They may have a subscription feature, but we don’t know which one — it isn’t ours, and it may well be broken. In fact I can’t load up the site at all.
But if you can load it, I’d recommend following the site in our reader instead. Copy their address, and paste it in here: https://wordpress.com/following/edit
You can then opt whether to follow by email or not.
