We need to update information our domain webpage, created through WordPress.org However, the email associated with the setup is long-deleted by the business owners. We cannot figure out what was used at the time. We have no problem logging into WordPress.com

How can we re-set our WordPress.org account?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

And it auto-linked our page located on wordpress.com, which isn’t the page in question.

http://www.starbrightservices.net is the URL, which is hosted by our email provider. They had us use WordPress.org to create the webpage. It’s most a static page, per the owners preference. But we have a phone number change that needs to be edited.

Hence, needing to figure out how to log into WordPress.org

Hence, needing to figure out how to log into WordPress.org

    Hi there,

If you need to change something on starbrightservices.net, then it’s that site you need to login to.

If you don’t have the login details for your site, you could try resetting the password by following these steps: https://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password

If you don’t have access to the email address that was used to create the account, you’ll need to change the admin details via the phpmyadmin method outlined in the link above.

Please note: WordPress.com (the hosted service owned by Automattic) and WordPress.org (the community-built free software) are two separate entities with different support forums and documentation.

Nobody here at WordPress.com has access to the login details for http://www.starbrightservices.net

If you need further help with a self-hosted site using software from WordPress.org, please try posting your question in the WordPress.org support forums.

If you don’t have an account at WordPress.org, you can register at https://login.wordpress.org/register

To learn about the differences between the two versions of WordPress (.com vs.org), please see this guide.

    Good luck!

Gary68 – Thank you! I’m coming into this mid-stream as the Business/Office manager. I was able to do a password reset and get into WordPress.com (thank heavens!), but not so with WordPress.org The User ID/email addy is just simply unknown by the owners.

I need to access the .org software platform that was used to create the webpage. Next, I’ll reach out to the local company that is hosting our particular domain name and see if they have that information.

Again, thank you for responding and all your help!

I need to access the .org software platform that was used to create the webpage.

I think you might be confused about which login details you need and how WordPress works.

While your site uses software from WordPress.org, you do not need a WordPress.org account to edit the site.

If you want to change something at starbrightservices.net, you need the login details for that site, not WordPress.org. The login details for your own site can be reset at http://www.starbrightservices.net/wp-admin/

If you don’t have access to the email address that was used to set up the site, you’ll need to edit them through phpMyAdmin on your hosting account.

Please note: the only reason you’d need an account at WordPress.org is if you want to use their support forums.
