Can’t login

    Recently when trying to edit my new domain I just bought (profit-pig.com) via then ‘www.profit-pig.com/wp-admin’ link it made me log back into WordPress and says my username isn’t registered. I have logged in on my account through the main portal and have changed my username and password, just incase I got them wrong, but it still isn’t working. Even though I can clearly see my username is ‘profitpig01’ it says ‘Error: The username profitpig01 is not registered on this site. If you are unsure of your username, try your email address instead.’

    Even if i try to login through my email, it says ‘Unknown email address. Check again or try your username.’, even though I have received multiple emails from WordPress via that email and have set it as my primary email for this account.

    I was hoping to get some help logging into the account so I can continue to edit my website.

    Hello, I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your website. However, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Hostgator.

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

    With that said, they do have some options for you at https://wordpress.org/support/article/resetting-your-password/
