    I CAN’T LOGIN TO ADMIN ON MY SITE–SAYS NO ACCOUNT–IVE TRIED LOGGING IN WITH USERNAME AND EMAIL USING CORRECT PASSWORD. ALSO TRIED TO RESET PASSWORD BUT IT SAYS–NO ACCOUNT?

    Hi there,

    The site plminstitute.org appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on Hostgator Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

    To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and Hostgator also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. Because of this we are not able to help with your issue as it lies outside of our system. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

    However, the good news is that as long as you have access to the server control panel through Hostgator, it is always possible to regain access to your self-hosted WordPress site. This WordPress.org Codex article will walk you through it: http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password

    You can ask Hostgator support for direct assistance in completing the steps in that article; they would be in the best position to help.

    Unfortunately this takes me into the same loop. The site is hosted on SiteGround and appears there but I cannot login to WordPress admin at all. So it’s a dead end. What else can I try? It isn’t a password issue. I’ve tried resetting. WordPress says my account doesn’t exist…can’t reach the admin side of the website I’m building.

    Your site is only connected to WordPress.com via the Jetpack plugin. This is done because several features of the Jetpack plugin really on WordPress.com (Stats, social sharing, etc.).

    Your hosting provider is Hostgator and they are the ones that can only help you.
