Can't login to Gravatar

I’m trying to revive my long neglected blog and noticed that when I comment, there’s an ugly question mark icon next to my name. I’ve never had a Gravatar account before but now when I tried to log in using my WordPress.com account, I got the following message:
Please make sure you activate your account and grant Gravatar access. Click the button above to try again.
When I click the button and enter my login details kit takes me back to the same page. Can somebody please help? It’s not fun being stuck in Infinite Loop Land! Thanks so much :o)
PS my blog is http://www.sidewaystiara.com/blog/ . I didn’t know that royalshyness.wordpress.com in its current form still existed, I thought it was just a dummy address that I’d set up to auto-redirect to my self hosted site. Apparently I didn’t.
I would appreciate help in setting up the redirect, since it’s been a while since I built either site and “rusty” doesn’t begin to describe the state of my web skills.

Hi, I was having the same problem. If you’re using Chrome, switch to Firefox and try logging in. It worked for me.

Let’s start with the fact that a wordpress.com account is a gravatar account and visa versa and this has always been so.
