Can't login to http://.com/
-
A user account was created to access http://<domain>.com/ as an administrator. In the process of resetting my password (via the password reset email) I can no longer access the page https://<domain>.com/wp-login.php to login. The page cannot be found. However, I am able to login to this same url using my phone while not connected to my home network. This leads me to believe that WordPress is blocking my IP address and not allowing me to login from my Desktop machine, that is on my home network. Not sure if this is a temporary block (as in, its only being blocked for next x amount of hours) or what. Any assistance with getting an explanation on what’s going on and a plan to fix it would be great. Thank you!

Hi kohldar,
Have you tried to clear your browser cache on your Desktop? It might help to solve the issue.

Thanks for reaching out arzuozbekakay!
Just now, I’ve tried clearing the cache, both in IE and in Edge. I’ve also tried within Chrome and still no success.
The exact error message in Edge is:
“
Hmmm…can’t reach this page
Try this
Make sure you’ve got the right web address: https://<domain>.com
Search for “https://<domain>.com” on Bing
Refresh the page
Details
There was a temporary DNS error. Try refreshing the page.
Error Code: INET_E_RESOURCE_NOT_FOUND”Like I said, I do not get this error on another device on a different network.

http://thenerdq.com – This is the site
https://thenerdq.com/wp-login.php – this is the admin login for the site. This is the one that I can’t access on my home network, but can on my phone or other device on different network. -
arzuozbekakay,
Thank you for your participation in this. I just tried to access those links again and was able to successfully login this time. I’m pretty sure it was a temporary ban. Might have somehow tripped the “too many login attempts” threshold. So this issue is now closed. Thanks again!
