    Hi there,

The site you’re referring churchstretton-tc.gov.uk is not hosted on WordPress.com.

    Servers:
    ns.rackspace.com
    ns.rackspace.com

Please share the site URL, if this is regarding to any other site which hosted on wordpress.com?

This is a public forum which provides support only for the sites hosted on WordPress.com.

There’s another support forum for WordPress.org self-hosted site, you can navigate to WordPress.org forum using this link:
    https://wordpress.org/support/

    For jetpack support https://jetpack.com/support/

For staging mode please go though this article: https://jetpack.com/2016/04/07/using-jetpack-for-client-sites/#more-10999

I am not sure but as per the article, As of Jetpack 3.9.2, you enable/disable Staging Mode by adding this to your staging sites’s wp-config.php:

    define( ‘JETPACK_STAGING_MODE’, true );

To learn about the difference between the WordPress.com and WordPress.org please refer this article:

For documentation for WordPress.org refer this article:

Let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!

  • I just checked your site, and it turns out this site is not hosted on WordPress.com. It’s a self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) site.

The forums we’re on deals with questions related to WordPress.com. You can make use of the self-hosted WordPress (WordPress.org) community forums available here https://wordpress.org/support/ to get support on your website.

    Thanks.

Thank you. I do not understand why, when I try to login in the usual way for all my self hosted sites, i get the error “‘Logging in with WordPress.com is disabled for sites that are in staging mode.” It is clearly a WordPress.com error message.

    Hi churchstrettonweb,

It is clearly a WordPress.com error message.

churchstretton-tc.gov.uk is a self hosted WordPress.org site, which is connected to your WordPress.com account with the Jetpack plugin — this enables you to manage the site through your WordPress.com account even though the site is hosted elsewhere.

‘Logging in with WordPress.com is disabled for sites that are in staging mode.’

Secure Sign On is enabled through Jetpack — which means you can login through WordPress.com. But this isn’t supported on staging sites. One option is to temporarily disable it in Jetpack > Settings > Security > WordPress.com log in.

Then try logging in to the site directly with your username and password here:

    http://www.churchstretton-tc.gov.uk/wp-admin/

You will need to login using the username and password for the site itself, rather than your WordPress.com details.

If you are unable to login to the site, please contact your hosting provider (Krystal), they should be able to help.

As @strikebuys mentioned, there are separate forums which provide support for WordPress.org sites so you can post there if you have any further questions.

    https://wordpress.org/support/

Best of luck getting this sorted.
