Can't Login to Word Press

  Hello

  For some reason I cannot login to my Word Press site. Every time I try to login, it tells me “unknown email address” , although I logged into this forum. My email is (email visible only to moderators and staff) and my site is http://www.pocphotocompany.com. Also I received an email to that above email address on 12/12/19 telling me my website has been been updated automatically to WordPress 4.6.17.

  Yesterday I did some work on hostmonster, updating galleries on my website via ftp which went fine. The I wanted to update some links on my page. Thats when I tried to login. I actually was able to reset my password via an old link from a previous email, but I still cannot access WordPress.

  Hi @poc2ba76ecb05a4, that site isn’t actually hosted here. And since your site is not here on our servers, we don’t have access to help you regain access — and that also explains why the login works here but not on your own copy. But I may be able to point you in the right direction.

  First contact your host to be sure you have backups and can access the hosting side of your site, then read all of these these instructions from WordPress.org to determine which method you want to use to regain access to your installation:

  As long as you can log into your hosting account, you should be able to regain access. If you need more help, head to to the forums for self-hosted sites at https://wordpress.org/support

  My issue was when I am on Hostmonster, I usually can login directly from there to word press(there a link that says sign into wordpress )which brings me the WP dashboard where I can access pages, plugins etc. I wasn’t able to do that-it kept saying 500 Internal Server Error.

  Also I don’t know why when I tried to sign in -it kept saying it didn’t recognize my email. Like I mentioned I periodically get emails from WP telling me that Word Press has been updated.

  Anyway I googled 500 Internal Server Error and found a solution. In my case, there apparently was a corrupt plugin-I deactivated all the plug-ins in file manager and was able to access the dashboard
