Can’t login to WordPress site, also not receiving password reset email
-
Hi,
I’m trying to log into WordPress using /wp-admin.
However the password isn’t working. Also, when I click on ‘reset password’, I’m not receiving an email.
Also, when the owner of the site is going to WordPress Dashboard > Users > Password Reset > Send Reset Link. I’m also not receiving an email.
Thank you
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
What is the address of the site you are referring to? onlinebrug.nl does not appear to be an active URL. Also, is the site hosted with us here at WordPress.com?

Hi there!
@michelledevans based on what I see, michelledennisevans.com is a self-hosted site hosted at Bluehost. You have published your question on WordPress.com Support Forums, where we provide support to WordPress.com users.
If your site does not work as expected, please contact directly Bluehost support about your issue. -
Hello – PLEASE HELP – I urgently need assistance with logging into my Admin page. I tried changing the name of my site and when I did and saved it it logged me out and now the site url doesn’t work and I can’t get into the Admin page to at least just change it back so it is working.
The previous url was macawcostarica.com and I changed it to macawrealtycr.com but the page goes no where.
Pleas help! Thank you!
-
The new url I changed it to (macawrealtycr.com) was purchased at Go Daddy if that makes a difference.

Hi @jsamaria
You’ll want to contact GoDaddy support since that’s where your site is hosted. We can help with WordPress.com sites on this forum. A WordPress site hosted by GoDaddy uses WordPress.org. There are some differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org. If you aren’t sure about them, please check the following page that explains it: WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org.
There’s also a WordPress.org support forum, but I’d suggest contacting GoDaddy support first.
Thanks!
-
Thank you. I’m on with Go Daddy support and they need the IP address to link the domain name. Can you please help?
-
Can you at least help me get back into the original site Admin page so I can switch it back to the original url so my clients can use it and then will work on switching to the new name later? It’s kind of urgent please. Thank you!

This is the message from Go Daddy:
“You must find out the IP address, once you find it, we can add inside the DNS and wait for the propagation time. However, directly with wordpress you must check and verify the configuration bc with them, you have the hosting, with us you only the domain no more”
-
Can someone please assist here? It’s a very timely issue that I need to have resolved asap. Thank you.

Hey there,
Thanks for reaching back out.
“You must find out the IP address, once you find it, we can add inside the DNS and wait for the propagation time. However, directly with wordpress you must check and verify the configuration bc with them, you have the hosting, with us you only the domain no more”
Are you looking to host the site with WordPress.com or with GoDaddy? If the site is to be hosted with WordPress.com.
If you’re looking to connect the site to WordPress.com, the name servers you require are:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comAlso, if with WordPress.com, which is the installation you would like to connect the site to?
Many thanks in advance!

I need the IP ADDRESS to add to the DNS. Which one of the these do I use for the IP Address?
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com
And YES the site is being hosted by Word Press. I am just changing the URL name to a different one I purchased from Go Daddy.
Please confirm what the specific IP address is for my macawrealtycr.com account is (previously was macawcostarica.com).
Also, please advise how I can get back into my Admin page.
This is URGENT.
Thank you.
-
These are not IP addresses:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.com
I need the IP address please asap!
-
CAN SOMEONE PLEASE REPLY HERE??? THIS IS URGENT! PLEASE! I can’t have another day go by without this being resolved. Or if you cannot help, can you please pass along a number with a person I can call that can fix this for me? PLEASE.
-
Please help. There has been no response all day today and I’m simply asking for the IP address for my account so I can map my new Go Daddy URL to my Word Press hosted page. Please.

Is there a particular reason why you are looking to use an IP address instead of nameservers? Do you have email set up that relies on nameservers, for example?
If there isn’t a specific reason, nameservers are a much better way to go. IP address will work, but IP addresses can also change and leave your site dead in the water until you update them at your registrar. If it were me, I would follow these instructions:https://www.godaddy.com/help/edit-my-domain-nameservers-664
…and enter in these values:
ns1.wordpress.com
ns2.wordpress.com
ns3.wordpress.comIf nameservers absolutely won’t work, here are our current IP addresses:
A 192.0.78.24 A 192.0.78.25 -
Thank you. I actually changed both the IP addresses and the nameservers. My only question now is what do I change the “To” section to? The previous url I had (macawcostarica.com) that I am switching to the new Go Daddy one (macawrealtycr.com) or just the new Go Daddy one (macawrealtycr.com)? I already went into Word Press on the General settings page and changed the site and home url to macawrealtycr.com.
I made the changes as I mention above yesterday and nothing is working at the moment but it does say I need to possibly wait 48 hours. I just want to make sure that I did everything correctly so I don’t have to wait another two days for it to propagate.

Hi @jsamaria there appears to be some confusion here. Your WordPress.com account (username jsamaria) does not appear to have any WordPress.com-hosted site associated with it.
As mentioned by @aisajib previously, it looks like your site (macawcostarica.com / macawrealtycr.com) is hosted at GoDaddy and uses the free WordPress software which comes from WordPress.org instead. That is separate from us here at WordPress.com.
What this means is that we aren’t best-placed to answer your questions, since any information we give would be oriented towards working with a site that is hosted here with us. For questions about a site which uses the free WordPress software, I’d direct you to the WordPress.org forums instead:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/Since we’re not familiar with GoDaddy’s systems and how they work with domains, they are likely to be a better resource for you to learn how to update your domain- and site settings so that the site is accessible and works with the correct domain.
In general for your site, it looks like the WordPress.org guidance pages have this suggestion for when you need to change a ‘Site URL’:
https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/changing-the-site-url/ -
Sorry but this is totally confusing to me and at this point I would just like to get the website back up and running. Can you please just go in and change all the details back to macawcostarica.com so I can get back into the dashboard and continue working? This has been several days now and is jeopardizing my job. PLEASE JUST CHANGE EVERYTHING BACK TO http://www.macawcostarica.com AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. I can’t have another day go by without this working. And if you can’t help on your end can you please pass this message on to someone that can fix this immediately? Thank you very much.
