  I’m trying to make a blog for a class to post lab reports, and i dont have the option for a free plan. Is this new?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can follow these guidelines to add a free blog to your existing WordPress.com account.

  It’s still possible to create a site with the Free plan — upgrading to a paid plan is optional. Are you able to create a free site using the link @akumarjain provided?:

  If not, please make a screenshot of what you are seeing and upload it to your Media Library so I can take a look.
