Can't make reader default to visual editor
-
My dashboard reader always defaults to text editor. This happens in both IE and Firefox. It doesn’t happen if I go to a Mac computer and use Safari. I read in an old forum post that Users – Personal settings would have a field for setting the default back to visual, but it doesn’t seem to any more. Can anyone suggest a solution?

Hello there,

Thank you, but I’ve tried all that. I really combed the forums and the support site for help before I posted here. I reloaded the browser, I cleared my cache. No change. It’s not that the visual editor tab is missing — it’s just that I have to click to get to it — every single time — because it defaults to text editor.

That’s weird. I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting. Exactly which browser and version of it are you using please?

Thank you again — I really appreciate your rapid responses! The text editor default happens when I use Internet Explorer 11 and Firefox. (It also happened on earlier versions of IE.) It does not happen on a computer running Safari OS 10.6.8.

Hey, it has finally become right! Somebody must have finally thought to push a button somewhere.
I’m so happy that you called it to the Staff’s attention, Timethief. After all this time, if it stays right, it’s a genuine Christmas gift! So thank you still again, and happy holidays to you and yours, from me and mine!
