Can’t map sub-domains to multiple wordpress accounts

I need to set up blogs for several members of our organization, SSDS, with domain ssds.net. I had no trouble screating the CNAME records to set up several sub-domains such as name1.ssds.net; name2.ssds.net, etc.
Then I created the first WordPress blog: pjhrpix.wordpress,com. Worked fine. I did Add Domain to add pjhr.ssds.net, was requested to pay the $10 – Bingo! All works perfectly. http://pjhr.ssds.net brings me directly to my blog at pjhrpix.wordpress.com.
The problem is that when I try to create other WordPress accounts for additional staff members, WordPress won’t let me map my other xxx.ssds.net sub-domains to these WordPress accounts. For example, after successfully setting up mhuffrousselle.wordpress.com, I tried mapping mhuffrousselle.ssds.net (a valid, previously-crearted sub-domain) but each time I attempt to do so in Upgrades/domains, I get error messages such as “You are not authorized to create a sub-domain at this domain”.
To be sure this ws not caused bu cookies or cached pages on my computer, I went to another computer, set up another WorPress account, mhr01.wordpress.com, and created a sub-domain of ssds.net to point to it. No problem, But again, when I logged on to mhr01.wordpress.com and tried to Add Domain, I got another error message, this time saying “That hostname cannot be added to this blog”
Why would WordPress be blocking this new, itotally ndependent account, from being mapped to mhuffrousselle.ssds.net? Is there some unwritten policy that no two WordPress accounts can be mapped to by different sub-domains or the same top-lever domain (eg ssds.net)? If so, it seems a shame, as it prevents us from having blogs for our different staff members hosted at wordpress.com, using different ssds.net sub-domain names.
I hopt this is a problem that can be solved with manual intervention by the Suport Staff – We’re happy to pay the Domain Mapping charges, and will be buying Space Upgrades for the new accounts, if we can set them up appropriately.
