can’t move RSS widget

  • Unknown's avatar

    I have an RSS widget that is currently located at the top of my right sidebar and I want to move it down lower on the sidebar. The problem is when I go to my dashboard to move it I don’t see it listed in the widget list. The first widget it lists is my text one. I do see my RSS feed widget for “The Wrap” but there is no widget showing for my other RSS feed button from the top of my sidebar. Is there another way for me to edit/move it? I am new to WordPress blogging so forgive me if I am missing something obvious here.

    My blog is here: http://oregonfilm.wordpress.com/

    Thanks,
    Jolie

    The INove theme offers this option > Feed ___ Show the feed reader list when mouse over on feed button. If you do not like the position then you can uncheck that option and “Save Changes”. Thereafter you can got here > Appearance > Widgets and install an RSS Links widget and position it where you want it to display in the sidebar. See> http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/rss-links-widget/

    That RSS link is built into the theme – you can’t remove it.

    But I was able to work out a solution for you. Remove the one of the two text widgets you’ve got now, and change the content of the other one to this:

    <div style="top:-62px;position:relative;width:100%;height:25px;background-color:#f7f7f7;margin-bottom:-31px;padding-top:15px;">
    <h2><a href="http://oregonfilm.org/">Oregon Film Web Site</a></h2>
    </div>
    <h3>Featured Posts</h3>

    If you’re not familiar with html, the section above “Featured Posts” is your Oregon link with a grey background around it, displaced upwards so that it will show up in front of the RSS link.
