Cant move widgets

  For some reason today I am unable to move my widgets into any of the sidebars. The cross hairs show up when I scroll over them but they seem to be locked down and can not add any new ones to the bar.

  Log out of wordpress, clear your browser cache and cookies, restart your browser and then try again.

  Just tried that and it is still locked down.

  Im using IE the new Beta version that was talked about on the wordpress front page the other day

  That is the issue. The beta version is beta which means it is not finished, and wordpress won’t do any real compatibility work generally till the browser comes out of beta to full release.

  One thing you can try is while on the widgets page, go to the “screen options” tab at top right and select “accessibility mode”. Then a link will appear on the widgets in the available widgets panel and you can click that to add widgets. You will have to see if you can then move them around in the sidebar panel. If you cannot, then you will either have to switch back to IE8, or perhaps switch to Firefox.

  Glad I found this — I was going crazy trying to figure out why these things wouldn’t move.
