Can't open comments on posts

My blog always defaults to “Comments are closed” on posts. I don’t want this — I want comments open. I can’t find a way to do this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy!
To enable comments on posts by default, go to Settings > Discussion > Default article settings and check the box to “Allow people to post comments on new articles”.

The whole problem here is that I did that but comments are still “closed” for posts, new and old. Any ideas?

I logged in to your dashboard, and confirmed that you do indeed have this setting the way that it needs to be. I also confirmed that when I create a new post, the discussion settings for that post show “Allow comments” by default (you can show this panel by selecting Discussion from the Screen Options drop-down in the top right-hand corner of the post editor).
I also confirmed that the most recent post you posted has comments open, so from everything that I can see, comments are open and will be enabled by default on all future posts.
If you continue to see a problem when you next publish a post, please respond and I’ll investigate further.
