Can't paste Norton meta tag into wordpress.com blog home page, for verification!

I’m trying to get my wordpress.com blog, safe-site verification from Norton…They prescribe that I copy and paste their provided meta tag into my sites home page, as such: “It should go in the <head> section, before the first <body> section.”…I do not know where the head, or body section is! Norton also states that, if I can’t paste their provided meta tag into the specified area, “add this to your list of keywords.” And they provide another set of “codes” for me to coppy and paste…I also do not know where these “keywords” are! —All I want to do is get safe-site verification…”Please Help!”

Norton should have all WordPress.com blogs whitelisted. You cannot follow those instructions because they are for WordPress.ORG blogs, not WordPress.COM blogs. You don’t need to worry about this, basically.

I’m not only new to blogging, but computers as well…I would assume, the
term “whitelisted” means Norton has me on their list to eventually view my blog for verification?…In the mean time, my precursory instinct assuming a more inured attitude; sends me into the hightech-wilderness, once again, to hunt for the allusive “what-if”…One such encounter with a member of Norton Community Forum, which might be useful to other wordpress.com members seeking verification; has suggested going to the “Dashboard”, hover over “Tools”, Select “Available Tools”. Under “Webmaster Tools Verification” there are two titles, “Google Webmaster Tools” and “Bing Webmaster Tools…Beside each title, there is an empty box. Paste the meta tag provided by Norton in each box, and click-on “Save Changes”. I hope this works…I have a image of the lunch-time scene from the move Modern Times (Charlie Chaplin) going through my head when I do something like this…If this works, I will post it…”Good Luck to all!” -

“Bing Webmaster Tools”, should be “Bing Webmaster Center”. Also, there should have been a quotation mark after the word “Tools”, which should have been “Center”….

The Webmaster Tools are to verify your blog with the search engines indicated. It has nothing to do with Norton. I use Norton and i have never had to verify anything. As raincoaster says, what you are asking is not something that is for a WordPress.com blog, it’s for .org

There’s a light at the end of the tunnel, after all…One question (thegiddygoat). How long did it take for Norton to put a green safe-site mark beside your web address? Just so I know what to expect. Mine still has a grey-box question mark beside it….Thank you.
