Can’t paste to Classic Block
-
Recently I can’t paste to Classic Block.
If I paste text, it will convert to a bunch of Paragraph Blocks.
Is there any problem with the Classic Block? -
It’s not that important as there is no difference for your visitors. The Classic Block is getting a bit outdated and has lost some functionality.
The Paragraph Block is part of our “new” Block Editor and it’s in fact easier and safer to use.

I use Classic Block because I need it, okay?
Ìf I want to use Paragraph Block I will choose to use it myself.
Thank for your useless comment. -

Hi @banhgao, please check out our code of conduct. Particularly the point about being kind and helping generate a friendly atmosphere.
Now, let’s focus on your issue. While we recommend using paragraph blocks, you should still be able to paste text into a Classic block. How are you copying/pasting the text? Do you see the same behavior when using Command+C and Command+V (or Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V on Windows) versus right-click Copy/Paste? Is the same behavior happening on different browsers?
Feel free to share your website address so we can try to replicate the issue.

@banhgao Testing in Firefox latest, I was able to copy/paste with Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V into a Classic Block I added first to the post. If I just pasted my copy into the Editor without having first added the Classic Block, it created regular blocks in the post, which I think is the expected behavior.

@staartmees I’m curious about “the Classic Block is getting a bit outdated and has lost some functionality”. Are there other forum posts where users have reported issues using the Classic Block? Thanks.
