Can't permanently delete file

  Hi, I deleted file that was previously posted, but it still available by direct link. I thought it’s cashed by google – so contacted google and asked to remove the file from google cache.. It was reported as removed. But it still available by direct link. Can you please check?

  I get a file not found 404 message.

  Deleting blogs and/or blog content or making the site private does not remove indexed content from the SERPs (search engine page results) and we cannot help with that. Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results after it produces a 404 (page not found):

  Thanks for fast response!
  Just cleaned the browser cache, , and just today I got the answer from Google saying the file was successfully cleaned-up from google cache.. So it’s not there, and also it’s contents now is not reported by SERP.
  But… to me this file is still available by direct link (((
  I guess removing from Google cache is not so fast… maybe dependent on server(s) location.

  Cleaned-up both cookies and cache – still file is accessible by direct link. Sounds like miracle )) One thing I think about – is google timing of cache removal. Maybe it is still in progress on non-US servers, and will take some time.
  Can you please double-check you have 404 for this file? If so – it “somehow” approves my thoughts.

  I still get a 404 file not found.

  Log out of wordpress.com and without logging in again try to access that link.
