can’t play music, link fails

I have added a web link that is for a song. The link was sent in an email, which I copied to the web address on a “link”.
Everytime I try to bring it up, it bombs to, web unknown. But it does exist and work when copied from email to search.
I just purchased the next level of extra space because I read that Mp3 files can only be used with an upgrade. Please help.

MP3s that are externally hosted on sites that allow hotlinking can be used without the upgrade. MP3s that are on your computer can be uploaded to your WP.com webspace if you buy the upgrade and not otherwise. So it sounds like you need to upload the file to your webspace.
Are you adding it in the audio player, or just pasting the link in?

I just did a copy/paste of the site to the Link on my WP. If I copy/paste to my AOL browser, the song comes up and starts playing. But if I then take that page, which is blank, and hit “insert in mail”, the site comes up as worldwideweb and of course that’s nothing.
So I didn’t upload anything, because it’s not a file on my computer. It’s located on another business domain of mine my sister did for me that’s in the background somewhere on that site. I bought the $20/yr service just to see if that worked. Maybe I should delete and start over on that one link?
