Can’t Point Blog to a Domain, Can’t Delete a Blog

Hello, everyone. I have a wonderfully frustrating problem, and I need help as soon as possible!
I’ve spent a lot of time reading about how to point a blog to a domain when having trouble doing so. I found it pretty easy to do this the first time around. I’ve got a blog, nopanedave.wordpress.com, which is part of another account. I found out too late that this means that I’ll look like the main blog every time I post (somebody needs to either do something about that problem or make it clear when you set up “sub-account” blogs that you’re always going to look like the main blog no matter which blog you send the post from). I then paid the $10, “imported” my domain, nopanedave.com, and then pointed my WordPress blog to it. No problem.
Now, however, even though I have changed the DNS records for nopanedave.com back to the original (about 8 hours ago), I cannot get the new blog, nopaindave.wordpress.com, to do anything with it. As a matter of fact, when I go to the “Domain” feature, type in the domain name, and click the button, the body of the page goes blank and stays that way. It’s not “working”; it just won’t do anything. I’ve tried it again and again, and I cannot get the new blog to do anything with my domain name.
I then thought that maybe I should delete the old WordPress blog in order to “free up” my domain name. I’ve read in this forum that others have had problems with deleting a blog, too, but I can’t find a post about anyone having my exact problem. In my case, I have gotten to the point where I’m told that I’m going to receive an email from WordPress to confirm the deletion. The problem is, I never get the email. Again, I deleted the blog about 8 hours ago, and no email. And the email address is working fine. I tested it twice. I even tried deleting the blog a couple more times, but still no email.
So, I can’t delete the old blog, and I can’t do a thing with the domain name I own. This is positively maddening, considering the fact that I need to this same process with two more blogs TODAY! Our new business website is going up for Tuesday morning users, and the blogs need to be finished by then.
