Can’t post or edit posts. browser loads blank page.

  2 days now. browser loads blank page. I didn’t change anything.or add-ons. Been through that turning off those.

  Thanks. The last part of the url that comes up when trying to add new post. Have done the flush route. (….. /wp-admin/post-new.php?calypsoify=1&block-editor=1&frame-nonce=3c0eb3f063&origin=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.com&environment-id=production&support_user&_support_token&in-editor-deprecation-group=1) ……. Using Firefox Browser 52.9 but same result on Chrome. OS-XP Until now, edit pages loaded slow but supposing that is typical for Block editor.

  Hi there,

  Using Firefox Browser 52.9

  The current version of Firefox is 89.0, so the problem here is that your browser is simply too old to work properly any more with the code used to create the WordPress editor.

  If you’re on Windows XP, your Chrome version will be similarly outdated – Microsoft ended support for XP already in 2009, so any software on your computer would long since have gone beyond the point where it can continue to be updated to the newest version.

  So I’m afraid there’s nothing we can do to fix things here. The only suggestion I can make is to continue using the classic editor while it remains available. To use that, go to https://wordpress.com/me/account and toggle the option to use the WP-Admin dashboard where available.

  After enabling that, if you go to My Site ->Posts, you’ll have the option to use either the block or the classic editor to create your posts. The classic editor is based on older coding languages than the block editor, so most features there should still work on older browsers.

  Thanks, which is what I wanted in editor anyway (classic editor is preferable) ……. from Dinosaurland .

  Glad I could help. Just keep in mind the classic editor won’t remain available indefinitely, but only for as long as the WordPress.org community who makes the classic editor plugin continues supporting it. So this is at best a short-(hopefully medium-)term solution :)
