can’t produce music icon

  I’m following #1 on these rules for uploading music: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/12/24/how-do-i-get-music-on-my-blog/

  I can’t get the little icon to appear. I type out what is required between [] but it only appears as I’ve typed it, bot as an icon. Is there supposed to be a space between the word “audio” and the URL? Is just the URL supposed to be linked to the page with the MP3, or is everything in the [] supposed to be linked?

  Yes, there must be a space (or the ‘equals’ sign) between the word “audio” and the URL. Note that you won’t see the icon of the player in the editor anyway – only in the blog once you publish the post.
