'can't provide a secure connection' message

Help! I tried to link my domain with my Mailchimp account today by adding DNS records – now I can’t view my site. I can get into the Dashboard etc and have tried to remove the DNS stuff but still no joy at getting into my website – I just keep getting this ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR

How do I undo whatever it is I’ve done?!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

What’s the address of the site you’re working on?

    Hi,

At this moment, I can see your site without any problem, so is it possible that you solved the issue?

There’s a tutorial on MailChimp site for connecting a domain owned through a third-party service (in this case – WordPress.com) – https://mailchimp.com/help/connect-domain/. It’s possible that this issue occurred if some data entered in the process of connecting MailChimp with your domain was wrong.

On WordPress.com support page -https://wordpress.com/support/mailchimp/, there’s info about usage of MailChimp with the site hosted on WordPress.com.

This error (ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR) can be caused by various issues with your website server or your local computer, or even a combination of both. More info about that: https://kinsta.com/knowledgebase/err_ssl_protocol_error/

I hope all of this will help, and you will successfully use MailChimp with your site.

    Cheers

Thanks for your responses – the problem does indeed seem to have resolved after I attempted to reverse what I had done.

Thanks for the info regarding MailChimp – I’ll take a look and hopefully make a better job of it next time!
