Can’t publish Categories

  Hello all!
  I am new to WordPress, and I quite like it! However I have a small problem.
  I had typed in a category, and clicked on the only button avalible, Add Category.

  So I did, and it appeared under my original Uncatigorized catigory which I renamed to News and Announcements.

  However when I click to view my blog, I do not see an exterior link to it.

  I did use the Search function on here, and the best I found was to click Publish, which I originally looked for before comeing here, but I see no option called Publish, unless it is a new page.

  I know this answer must have been answered a million times, and I just can’t seem to find it, but I appretiate your patiance and thank you in advance!

  all categories cannot be seen on your blog unless you have categorise a post under it. have you a post with news and announcements categorised yet?

  Yes, I believe I did, though I might have done it incorrectly, and shall try again.

  Yes, this was the problem, I had made a comment, but hit Save instead of Publish, and when I did hit publish it went to an unknown page, but I realised I had to check off one of those boxes to get the post.

  I thank you for very much for your help and quick responce! Time to get blogging :D
