Can't publish edited pages
-
I have been editing several previously published pages. I am able to Preview Changes and Update the pages. This saves the edited version but I am not able to publish the new version. The pages were originally published on Feb 2, 2013 and nothing I do changes this. What am I missing? Shouldn’t this be easy?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What are the URLs of the pages? Have you changed the publish date? When you say you’re not able to publish the new version, what happens to it? Does it just vanish, go to Drafts, go offline, what?

Well if you’ve already published the pages (or posts), editing them is just to update their information, or make changes if notice a spelling mistake. Editing them doesn’t republish the page, it just updates them. If you want to republish the page, then you can always copy the page/post, and then make changes, and publish it again.
I don’t think you need to republish edited pages, since all you are doing is updating them, hence the ‘update’ button.

I have a suspicion you’re actually looking at cached versions. But without the URLs and the information of what “new” material to look for on the pages, we can only speculate.

Our site is http://tapteal.org. One of the pages I have edited is
http://tapteal.org/2013/02/03/tapteal-bend/. “We have moved into Phase 3…” is the first sentence under Description of the old version.
I edit using IE9 and view the site using Chrome. I delete all browsing history from Chrome before attempting to view changes. The edited pages are saved when I hit the Update button. The changes do not show up on the displayed page at our site. I have also had other people look at the site from their computers using different browsers.
I thought pages could be published directly. Do they need to be published as posts?
