Can't put an HTML widget from another site on my blog.

I recently stopped using Goodreads and removed the GR widget from my site. I wanted to replace it with a widget of my reading shelf from BookLikes. I was attempting to do so through the “text” widget since it says that it supports HTML. But when I enter the HTML code it simple shows up as blank on the site.

Is this something I’m not allowed to do without being a premium member?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There are some html tags we cannot use here on WordPress.com so the software that powers this platform will strip it out:

I’m not sure what you mean by “premium member” on WordPress.com but all of these upgrades still mean you are being hosted for free (with some benefits) and you are still subject to the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up for an account (and blog) here.

Are you aware that there are different flavors of WordPress which are distinct from each other?
