Can't recover old account !
-
Hi guys, I’m Thomas, appearing on https://asfws2013.wordpress.com/teams/, my colleague Sylvain (also appearing on this page) created this page with email (email visible only to moderators and staff) in 2012.
He’s now retired, and we don’t have the domain name appsec-forum.ch, nor access to any email, or password.
I’d like to recover access to this blog account !
I don’t have any transaction ID, activation URL or 2 factor authent code, but can provide some documentation of identity as both our faces are appearing on this website as founder and team.
Thanks for your help,
Thomas -
Hi Thomas –
For this situation the only way to recover account access is through proof of ownership. Those items are listed here:
-
I get your point of course, but those proofs of ownership don’t take in account the fact of loosing an email account, which is super common after 5-6 years.
I don’t think SMS or 2nd authentication was set or needed to be set at that time.
So if we loose two emails in 5 years, we can’t have access anymore to the blog ?
Please understand and verify my identity with other ways that a simple URL and token.
Thank you !

Maybe WordPress has involved in recovery of accounts by asking now obligatory another email or a mobile number, but at that time, only an email was needed.
We bought the upgrade plan to link it with appsec-forum.ch, but all of this has been deleted in 7-8 years !
Thanks for your understanding or provide other ways, maybe putting it in private mode ?

@wannamyclick it’s best for folks to keep their email addresses updated, of course. If your colleague made purchases here through that account, though, they may be able to use proofs of purchase to regain access to the account:
Please reach out directly to
passwordhelp@wordpress.comwith any proofs you have.
