Can't redempt expired domain

Hello! My domain name wylersblog.com expired several days ago, but still working. I changed my site url to default aidreamer.wordpress.com, ’cause i want to re-purchase wylersblog.com name at bluehost.com, but i still can’t do that, cause my domain is “taken” here. When will my domain be “free” for new purchase from another registar? I also “unlocked” it in automattic domain control panel, but nothing happened. Bluehost still can’t register that domain name, I also can’t (and don’t want to, actually) renew it from my dashboard here. I don’t want to lost my domain name, but now it hanged out in cosmos without any viewable way for me to recover it. Thank You for Your attention.

If you let the domain name expire, there is about a 15 day grace period where you can renew it. If you wait past that 15 days, it goes into redemption and at that point the domain registrar locks it down and it might not be available for purchase for up to 60 days. There is nothing that can be done about the “redemption” period. That is all in the hands of the registrar.

My suggestion: Renew it through wordpress and then you can point it at a site on bluehost if you wish, and then after 60 days you can transfer it to bluehost. The 60 day waiting period is an ICANN rule (the internet naming people) and again, there is nothing that can be done about that. There will be extra fees involved to transfer it to bluehost (how much is up to bluehost) and it could be that they will require you to pay for an extra year of registration on top of that.

I agree with above advice. Simplest and quickest solution.

Thanks for Your help. I need to think about Your suggestion.
