Can't redirect wordpress.com site to new self hosted site

  I now have a self-hosted wordpress.org blog at http://www.quitegoodfood.co.nz. I also had this as a custom domain when my blog was with wordpress.com, which seems to be causing problems redirecting the .com site to the new location. If I try to purchase a redirect service through the wordpress.com store, I get this message:

  A domain mapping already exists for that host. You do not need to buy a site redirect if you already have a domain mapping.

  So, do I need to contact support to delete quitegoodfood.co.nz as a registered domain, then purchase a redirect, or is there some other way to resolve this? Does anyone know?

  You need Site Redirect upgrade because you want to redirect visitors to quitegoodfood.wordpress.com site to http://www.quitegoodfood.co.nz site.

  But going by error message, it looks like you already have Domain Mapping upgrade. Domain Mapping maps your domain quitegoodfood.co.nz to WordPress.com site, quitegoodfood.wordpress.com so your visitors will see quitegoodfood.co.nz in their browser’s address bar but actually visit the content of quitegoodfood.wordpress.com.

  Check in your My Upgrades screen at https:// quitegoodfood.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades if you can cancel your Domain Mapping so you will be able to purchase Site Redirect upgrade.

  Thanks for the replies. The DNS settings for my domain (with my domain registrar) are set to point to my self hosted site. I’ve now deleted the domain mapping that existed within my wordpress.com account (from when I used the custom domain for wordpress.com blog) and that has allowed me to purchase the redirect successfully. Should have figured sooner that those old domain mappings were the problem. Thanks anyhow.
